The app

Booking a table happens in Strobe: the room as it is, the table you want, the price on it, and the record that travels with you. When someone invites you to their table, their link is all you need.

Why the split link needs nothing

A table gets decided in a group chat, usually the same week as the night, often the same day. The person booking it is in the app. Everyone else is not, and asking six people to install something before they can send you €80 is how a table falls apart. So the organiser’s link opens anywhere, shows that person their amount, and takes Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card.

What you get

Tonight

What is on, tonight or this week, with the music tags a room has set. Not a directory of six hundred venues: the ones actually running.

Places

The rooms that exist, on a map, each with its standing detail. Plus a city picker, for the weekend you are somewhere else.

People

The ones who make nights worth going to. You follow them, you see what they are putting on. Resellers never appear.

Your bookings

Every table, every night, its status: deposit paid, shares outstanding, night closed.

Your party

Who’s in, who’s paid, whose share is still open. No screenshots of bank transfers.

Your payments

Your share, your receipt, your refund if the pool didn’t complete.

Your record

A verified history of what you committed to and whether you arrived. Making it portable between cities is what comes next, and it is the thing meant to replace knowing a PR in a city where you know nobody.

Getting the app

iOS: not released yet. · Android: not released yet.

Strobe is opening to its first venues, and the app opens with them. Join the waitlist and you’ll hear when it lands.

How it behaves

  • Strobe does not track your location. No geofencing, no background location.
  • Connections need both people to agree, and paying into someone’s table never connects you to them.
  • Social features are off until you turn them on. Presence, when it ships, is opt-in, mutual-accept only, and derived from door check-in rather than from where your phone is.
  • Blocking someone is silent. They are told nothing and shown nothing, and their experience is identical to you never having used Strobe.

Strobe is for adults only: 18+. An age affirmation is part of sign-up.

Be there when it opens.
